April 24, 2009We have been alerted to an update of our previous TravAlert (4/17/09) regarding Nashville International Airport improvements. For our Nashville-area based customers, as well as those of you who may be visiting Music City, please be aware of this latest information about the upgrades and construction going on at our airport. Terminal Roadway Project UpdateAllow Extra Travel Time Through The End Of May, 2009Please note that blasting is currently underway on Nashville International’s roadways which will cause delays when entering and exiting the terminal. Below is the revised schedule for the blasting work, which will occur six days a week (Monday through Saturday). Revised Schedule through the end of May 2009: Allow extra time when traveling to the airport during this time and watch for construction detour and speed limit signs. The blast time may vary as the project progresses, and we will do our best to keep you updated, but please feel free to look for updates on the airport's Web site, www.flynashville.com, as well. Background on Terminal Roadway ProjectPhase I of the Terminal Access Roadway Improvements (TARI) Project began in October 2008 and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2009. TARI is designed to improve traffic conditions on Terminal Ring Road, the one-way thoroughfare that surrounds the airport’s short and long-term parking lots and provides access to the terminal. TARI will eliminate the need for vehicles to merge and weave through multiple lanes of traffic on Ring Road, and will improve ingress/egress from both I-40 and Donelson Pike.
