| Program Cuts Security Line Waits |
|
The U.S. Transportation Security Administration developed the Registered Traveler program to ease security lane congestion at U.S. airports. The program is designed to provide a "fast lane" for travelers identified as a minimal security risk.
To qualify, travelers must pass a background check and provide biometric information such as retina and fingerprint scans. Certified civilian companies provide enrollment services for Registered Traveler. The cost to enroll is currently $128 per person; however, Caldwell Travel can offer a reduced rate when 10 or more travelers enroll. Clear, one of the companies that provides this service, will also come on-site with a kiosk and enroll company executives and frequent travelers as a group if deemed appropriate. For individuals, the process to enroll is fairly simple. The traveler would enroll online, and provide information such as driver's license number, previous home address for the past 5 years, social security number, and a current credit card. Next, the traveler must complete the process **in person** at any Clear enrollment station at various airports throughout the country. Fingerprints, iris images, and photographs are taken during this stage as well. Once completed, IDs are mailed to the traveler. Airports with Registered Traveler lanes include: · Albany Please don't hesitate to call or email if you need further details, or wish to proceed with this program, as we will gladly assist. Caldwell Travel appreciates and thanks you for your business. Kelly C. Lally
