Caldwell TravAlert - 5/8/09 - Newly Required Info for TSA
May 8, 2009
Important traveler notice regarding newly required information for TSA

The Transportation Security Administration, in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security, is implementing newly required reservation information from the airlines.  The goal is to enhance and improve government watch list matching.

May 15, 2009
Airlines and travel agents are requested to provide the full name as it appears on the ID the traveler plans to present at the airport.

When traveling, one of the nice perks is earning frequent flyer points with the airlines, to be redeemed for free tickets and such.  The carriers do require that the name on the ticket matches the name on the frequent flyer program.  As a friendly reminder, please check your personal frequent flyer numbers, and update accordingly to ensure miles are tracked.

Aug. 15, 2009
All domestic airlines and their travel agents are required to request all Secure Flight elements: full name (as used on the ID to be presented at the airport), date of birth and gender for all domestic reservations.

Oct. 31, 2009
All international airlines and their travel agents are required to request full Secure Flight elements: full name (as used on the ID to be presented at the airport), date of birth and gender for all international reservations.

Please know that the Caldwell Travel team is working diligently to gather this important information from our valued customers to ensure a smooth travel experience.  We will be updating traveler profiles with the newly required information as well.  For our online booking customers, the data will soon be easily updated by travelers and travel arrangers directly through their customized online travel site.

In addition, we will be able to provide "Redress" numbers (a unique number assigned by the DHS to persons who have had issues in the past due to screening misidentification...i.e.  similar names to those on a government watch list etc.) to the carriers.
